The Rivers' Edge
History
On June 7, 1997, The Rivers' Edge park was dedicated to the memory of William I. Maxwell. His love for and commitment to the Saltsburg community, combined with his love for the river, made the park a fitting tribute for the community and its visitors to enjoy for years to come. A Navy veteran and successful business leader, he was also a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend who spent his career giving back to members of the community. This living memorial overlooking the tranquil Conemaugh River was constructed by the employees of Max Construction in memory of its founder, William I. Maxwell, as a gift to the people of the community he proudly called home.
