California's Great America is a 112-acre amusement park in Santa Clara that opened in 1976 as Marriott's Great America, built on a former pear orchard as one of two near-identical Americana-themed parks developed by Marriott. It grew into a major Bay Area seasonal attraction with more than 40 rides, including notable roller coasters and a children's area centered on Peanuts characters. The park passed through several owners, from Marriott to Kings Entertainment, Paramount, Cedar Fair, and then Six Flags after the 2024 merger.
