THE STORY

Mission Santa Clara de Asis was founded at its original site on January 12, 1777, by the Franciscan Fathers, and its second site dates to 1799–1784. The original site lay 967 yards north and 334 yards south of Bayshore Highway Bridge No. 37–64.
