The Wade Archeological Site is a prehistoric Native American village in Randolph, Virginia, at Staunton River Battlefield State Park. Identified as a Saponi settlement from the Late Woodland Period, it dates roughly from A.D. 1000 to 1450. Covering about 270 by 70 meters, the site preserves evidence of a community that lived in the Staunton River valley centuries before European settlement. Its significance as a well-preserved record of that earlier occupation was formally recognized by its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
