Rye Harbor State Park is a public recreation area on the Atlantic coast in Rye, New Hampshire, occupying part of the Ragged Neck peninsula with sweeping views of the ocean, the Isles of Shoals, and the town harbor. Known more for its open shoreline and coastal scenery than for a large inland landscape, it supports day use with fishing, picnicking, benches, tables, a pavilion, and restrooms. The park also connects visitors to the region’s past through the 1614 Monument, dedicated in 2014 to Captain John Smith for his exploration of New England’s coast, and through interpretation of the Isles of Shoals’ maritime history.
