Founded in 1906 as First State Bank under a state charter, this institution became First National Bank after receiving a national charter in 1907. B.E. Finley served as the bank's president for many years, leading it from the turn of the century until his death in 1934. Beginning with an initial capital of $10,000, the bank grew steadily and soundly over the years and, occupying the same corner location since its founding, continued as an important part of the Pampa community.
