Christopher Lee Hoskins, a Killingly resident and specialist in the U.S. Army, was killed while serving his country in Ramadi, Iraq, on June 21, 2005. A crimson maple serves as his living memorial. It was dedicated on Memorial Day 2013, alongside words by Richard P. Hoskins honoring the fallen soldier’s enduring spirit and the roots of family, friends, and community.
