Port Canaveral began as a small oil and fishing port and developed into a first-class, deep-water harbor that can serve import, export, and other industries. Through the years, generations of fishing families took their daily catch to market, and some of the same families still serve fresh seafood at their local restaurants. Facilities in the foreground hold cement and petroleum, and huge cargo vessels transport freight in and out of the port.
