It is associated with the California State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Mitz-Khan-A-Khan Chapter, Ventura, California, on March 31, 2018. Pope Francis elevated it to a Minor Basilica on June 9, 2020, and Mission Basilica San Buenaventura is the seventh basilica in California.
