Kingwood Center Gardens in Mansfield, Ohio, is a forty-seven-acre historic estate created in 1926 for industrialist Charles Kelley King and his wife Luise, with grounds designed by Pitkin and Mott. Centered on Kingwood Hall, it blends the scale of a country estate with formal gardens, greenhouses, and linked outdoor rooms enclosed by hedges. Features include a sunken garden, circular pool, parterre, perennial and rose gardens, a knot herb garden, and tropical and succulent greenhouse collections. After King’s death in 1952, the estate opened in 1953 as a public garden under a private foundation, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
