Di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art in Napa, California, is a nonprofit museum devoted to Northern California art, with about 1,600 works by artists from the San Francisco Bay Area and the wider region shown in rotating exhibitions. Set on a 217-acre property in Carneros, it unites a significant regional art collection with a landscape shaped by a long agricultural past that included the Rancho Huichica grant, vineyards, and a stone winery. Its modern form grew from Rene di Rosa’s purchase of the land in 1960, his restoration of viticulture, and his vision of a public art park, realized in 1997 and sustained despite controversy over proposed collection sales in 2019.
