The Bearwallow Mountain Lookout Cabins and Shed form a small New Deal-era building group in Bearwallow Park near Mogollon, New Mexico, within the Gila National Forest. Built in 1940 by the Works Progress Administration, they are part of a rare surviving group of federal projects tied to lookout operations in this mountainous region. The complex is one of only three New Deal-period lookout building ensembles in the Gila National Forest, along with the El Caso and Mangas Mountain complexes. It is historically important for both its Depression-era public works origins and its role in the forest lookout system. In 2006, the Bear Fire threatened the buildings as it swept across Bearwallow Mountain.
