Bell Aircraft manufactured the UH-1 Iroquois, or Huey, a utility aircraft powered by a Lycoming T-53-L13 single turbine engine. It is one of the most recognized aircraft of the Vietnam era and served in a wide variety of roles, including medical evacuation, troop transport, and gunship duty. The UH-1H entered service in September 1967 and is used by all four branches of the American military. Its specifications include a length of 41’ - 10.5’, a gross weight of 9,500 pounds, a cruise speed of 127 miles per hour, a range of 318 miles, a crew of 3, and armament of two M-60D 7.62 mm door mounted machine guns.
