Beloved children's book author Margaret Wise Brown penned more than 100 children's books including The Runaway Bunny (1942), Little Fur Family (1946), and Goodnight Moon (1947). She spent many happy times visiting her good friend Jessica Gamble Dunham in nearby Stonington, Conn. After Margaret's untimely death, her sister Roberta Rausch and Jessica donated a near complete set of her published works, personal papers, manuscripts, and books to Westerly Library, where it could be housed and cared for.
