Captain Daniel Shays served with the Continental Army and led Shays' Rebellion in Massachusetts. Shays' Rebellion had a lasting effect on the framing of the country's Constitution and the history of the United States. In 1814, Shays came to live in Scottsburg, New York, where he remained until his death.
