Cornwall Furnace was built in 1742 by Peter Grubb, sold by his son to Robert Coleman in 1786, and operated by Coleman and his descendants continuously until 1883. In 1932, Margaret Coleman Buckingham, a great-granddaughter of Robert Coleman, presented it to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
