James Cecil “Little Jimmy” Dickens, born December 19, 1920, in Bolt, was a country music star known as “Little Jimmy” because of his short stature of 4 feet, 11 inches. He began his musical career in the 1930s, and by 1948 he was a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He enjoyed a successful recording career and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1983. Dickens died on January 2, 2015, in Nashville.
