Camp Dennison Civil War Museum occupies a building constructed by C. Waldschmidt in 1804 that served as a guard house for the camp from 1861 to 1865. It was dedicated on September 6, 1997, to the men and women who served in the War Between the States. The museum and house restoration were projects of the Ohio Society Daughters of the American Revolution, including the State Regent's projects of Mrs. James H. Woolslayer from 1995 to 1998, the Civil War Museum work of Mrs. Ralph R. Bush from 1992 to 1995, and the House Restoration and Civil War State Chairman work of Mrs. Charles R. Wright from 1992 to 1998. The site is owned and operated by the Ohio Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
