Apollo 16 took place from April 16 to 27, 1972, with the command module Casper and the lunar module Orion. The crew consisted of Commander John Young, Command Module Pilot Thomas “Ken” Mattingly, and Lunar Module Pilot Charles Duke. Reflecting on the mission, John Young said, “Because time on the Moon was so precious, what I remember most is trying to catch up.”
