Since 1869, this bell has called people to worship. It was first purchased and used by First Lutheran Church of St. Ansgar, and in 1893 that congregation gave it to Deer Creek Lutheran Church, where it continued calling worshipers from across the countryside until 1970. It honors the memory of Herman Brown.
