Sangchris Lake State Recreation Area is an Illinois state park in central Illinois covering 3,022 acres in Christian and Sangamon counties. Centered on Sangchris Lake, which occupies much of the park and shapes its landscape, the area is managed as protected land for public outdoor use. Its importance comes less from a single historic site than from preserving a broad expanse of land and water within the Illinois state park system as a lake-based recreation area.
