The Shore Acres House is a Mediterranean style house built as a model home for Shore Acres Company by developers Roger Moore and Oliver T. Wallace. From 1932 to 1969 it was owned by Roger Moore (1879-1968) and his wife, Alice Borden (1881-1954). He was president of the development company and Roger Moore & Sons Company, brick and tile manufacturers. Active in local civic and business affairs, he was a charter member of the Wilmington Rotary Club. The house remained in the family for ninety-one years.
