In downtown Louisville, the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory preserves and continues the making of one of baseball’s most famous bats. Its history is rooted in Hillerich and Bradsby and in the family story that a young Bud Hillerich made a bat for Pete Browning in 1884, helping launch the brand’s legend. Production later shifted to other sites before returning to Louisville in 1996, when the current museum and working factory opened in a renovated warehouse. With exhibits, statues, a bat vault, hands-on displays, and tours of the production process, it links baseball history, popular culture, and an active manufacturing tradition.
