James A. Cole built this brick building as an investment and rented it to local businesses. One of its first businesses was Resseguie and Wilson Hardware, later Resseguie and Partridge Hardware. From the late 1920s to 1958, the fire house occupied the south side. All three floors were used by a wide range of enterprises, including Broadalbin Electric & Power Co., the James Van Ness Law Office, Isaac Bowman Photo Studio, Frank Chequer's Barber Shop, the Baptist Church after its church burned and until a new one was built, the A & P Store managed by E.M. Alter, village and town offices, Community Medical Center, the Fire Department and an eight-foot square iron cage with four bunks that served as the village lockup, Junquera's Laundromat, The Candy Shop, the William Bass Law Office, the Improved Order of Odd Fellows, Fish House Lodge No. 298, Village Café Pizzeria, and Wellness in Motion Physical Therapy. It is now owned by Fish House Lodge No. 298.
