Near Batesville, Arkansas, this early industrial site was the location of a mill established by John Ruddell, an early Independence County settler who developed several mills on creeks and streams north of the White River. The mill operated under the Ruddell family until 1917. Though fire destroyed the main building in the 1930s, the site still retains important remains of the complex, including a stone foundation, the mill dam, and a low-water bridge built over the dam in the early 20th century. Its preservation reflects the area's early industrial development and long family operation.
