Tuolumne Memorial Hall was erected in 1936 as a joint project of the Federal Public Works Administration and the County of Tuolumne in grateful commemoration of those who gave their lives in heroic defense of “our altars and our fires” and the priceless human liberties handed down by the Founding Fathers of the United States of America. It was dedicated June 7, 1936, with the hope that the memory of these patriots would inspire future generations.
