Alexander Devilbiss

Alexander Devilbiss, born in Frederick County, Md., on January 18th 1780, moved to Licking County in 1821 and died in December 1831. His successful operation of the mill he built on the terrace of Raccoon Valley overlooking the site helped lead to the founding of Alexandria. He and his wife, Priscilla, are buried about 350 yards due south on the terrace overlooking the mill site.
