The Norge Depot was built sometime between 1906 and 1908 by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Company and is the only surviving example in James City County of the company's move toward standardized depot designs for mass production. Originally located beside the railroad tracks at the end of Peach Street in Norge, it was moved to its current location in 2006 when it faced demolition. Despite the relocation, most of the building remains intact and has been rehabilitated as closely as possible to its original exterior appearance based on existing historical records.
