Dean Stanton Barnard, Jr., Ph.D., a gifted and popular teacher, held degrees from the University of Michigan and came to York College as full Professor and Specialist in American Literature. He served as Academic Senate President from 1973-1974, established and directed the Campus Writing Center, and pioneered computer-assisted composition instruction. His broad interests across academic disciplines benefited his students and the curriculum as a whole.
