Lake White State Park is a public recreation area on the southwestern edge of Waverly, Ohio, built around the 337-acre Lake White despite having only 92 acres of land. Its history reaches back to the old Ohio and Erie Canal, whose channel survives within part of the park. The lake itself was created during the Great Depression by the Works Progress Administration, and the site became a state park in 1949 when Ohio established its Division of Parks and Recreation. The park is also notable for its largely privately owned shoreline and for major dam and bridge repairs that followed a leak discovered in 2014.
