The Korean War, often called "The Forgotten War," lasted from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. During the conflict, the U.S. suffered 54,246 killed, 103,284 wounded, and 8,177 missing. Among the dead from Platte County were Fred O. Rudat, Reinhold P. Brehm, John F. Bruce, Raymond G. Seidel, and Lavern H. Becher.
