John F. Cance, 1870—1953, was a civic leader and benefactor who provided a permanent charitable trust to the City of Galesville and the surrounding area for education, beautification, and charitable endeavors for the benefit and enjoyment of local residents. It is also dedicated to the memory and honor of the men and women of the Galesville area who served the country through war and peace, with a prayer that God preserve freedom forever.
