Goodpasture Bridge is a covered road bridge over the McKenzie River near Vida in western Oregon, built in 1938 to carry local families and logging traffic. At 165 feet, it is the state’s second longest covered bridge and one of Oregon’s most photographed, valued for its scenic setting, transportation role, and classic Howe truss design. Named for pioneer farmer Benjamin Franklin Goodpasture, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Restoration in 1987 preserved the bridge instead of replacing it, and later repairs strengthened it for continued use. It remains a working crossing and a prominent part of Lane County’s covered-bridge tradition.
