Belknap Bridge, also called the McKenzie River Bridge, is a covered road bridge over the McKenzie River near Rainbow, Oregon, and the fourth covered bridge built at this crossing since 1890. Named for the Belknap family, early settlers in the area, it reflects both local settlement and transportation history. After earlier bridges were replaced in 1911 and 1939, the 1939 span was destroyed in the 1964 Pacific Northwest flood. The current bridge opened in 1966 as a 120-foot single-span Howe truss designed to carry logging trucks, and it remains open to traffic. Its National Register listing recognizes its scenic setting and its significance within Lane County’s covered-bridge tradition.
