Red Rock Mountain rises in northeastern Pennsylvania in Luzerne County within Ricketts Glen State Park. Its summit stands on the North Mountain escarpment, making it part of the broader Allegheny Plateau rather than an isolated peak. The mountain is valued for its expansive views and for the Grandview fire tower at its top. From the summit, the scenery shifts notably by direction: southward the outlook reaches toward the Ridge and Valley Appalachians, while the other three directions look across the deeply dissected Allegheny Plateau. Huckleberry and North Mountain can be seen to the west among the region’s higher summits.
