In July 2017, ground penetrating radar was used to scan beneath the ground for disturbed soil indicating burials at Lake Protestant Cemetery. Burials were identified by disruptions with the consistent length, width, and depth of a burial, while anomalies marked with a red X indicated possible burials that did not meet all the criteria. The survey found 217 burials, though some may have been missed because tree roots blocked the radar from penetrating deeply enough, and at least 200 burials have been documented. Documented lot owners include Belz, Schoenborn, Turrell, Schwan, Packard, White and Martin in a split lot, Delaney and Howard, Watson, Schmidt, Grebe and Miller in a split lot, Phillip and Oliver in a split lot, McFadden and Vallier, Thompson, Linebarger, Estes, Cross, Textor, Baker, Beal, Kiphutt, Jenny, Matheus, Hunt and Bunty, Putney, Eggers, Donsing, Moulter, Schelben and Littman, and Friss and Repta.
