In thankfulness to God, the men and women of Dawson and Lower Tyrone Township who served their country in World War II from 1941 to 1947 were honored, with George W. Cunningham, Joseph Mack, Harry J. Sherbondy, Walter E. Shumar, and Howard Ridgely identified as having died in action; the people of Dawson and Lower Tyrone gave thanks to God and honored the men and women who served their country and those who gave their lives in all wars.
