Lincoln Covered Bridge in West Woodstock, Vermont, spans the Ottauquechee River as a one-lane crossing built in 1877. Though outwardly a traditional covered bridge, its significance lies in its rare engineering: two wooden arch trusses forming an unusual variation of the Pratt design, with laminated arches, wooden and iron verticals, and iron cross-bracing. Covered bridge historian Richard S. Allen identified it as the only known surviving use of the Pratt truss in wood. Built by R.W. Pinney and B.H. Pinney, it was rehabilitated in 1989 to preserve its historic appearance while strengthening it for emergency vehicles, and it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1973.
