The Lower Little Miami Scenic River was designated into the National Wild and Scenic River System in January 1980 to protect and enhance the river’s free-flowing character, water quality, and outstandingly remarkable values. Little Miami Incorporated has worked for scenic river conservation since 1967, and January 2005 marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the designation.
