Tallahatchee Covered Bridge was a rare Alabama covered road bridge built around 1900, possibly 1908, by county bridge builder Jim P. Nunnally with Mose A. Prickett over Tallasseehatchee Creek southeast of Wellington. A sixty-one-foot single-span structure, it used an unusual wood-and-metal combination of Multiple King-post truss and Town Lattice. For decades it served local farm traffic until a steel bridge replaced it in 1954. Valued for its uncommon design, it was purchased for the Nances Creek Restoration Project and moved in 1975 to a private site near Piedmont. After appearing on a state covered-bridge list, its later condition and even survival became unclear.
