Dedicated to the men and women of the Town of Granville who served in the Army and Navy of the United States during the World War in 1917-1919, this remembrance honors Granville martyrs, those who died in service, and a roll of honored veterans by name. It also recognizes Army nurses Elizabeth D Jones and Ruth M Spencer. Other engravings recall World War I campaigns including Cantigny, Chateau-Thierry, Belleau Wood, and St. Mihiel; notable events including the sinking of Lusitania and Austria-Hungary's casus belli; and notable organizations including Jewish War Vets, YMCA, Salvation Army, and Knights of Columbus.
