Roque Bluffs State Park is a 274-acre public recreation area on Maine’s Atlantic coast in the town of Roque Bluffs. On Schoppee Point, it overlooks Englishman Bay and includes 60-acre Simpson Pond, creating a compact landscape of rocky shoreline, inland water, woods, and seaside vistas. The park is especially noted for coastal scenery and visible glacial striations along the shore, evidence of the Ice Age forces that shaped the Maine coast. Six miles of walking trails connect its varied settings, and the park remains a state-protected recreation area managed by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.
