Mount Allison
Science & Tech
Mount Allison is a peak in the Diablo Range in the East Bay southeast of Fremont, California, on a ridge shared with Mission Peak and Monument Peak. Unlike those neighboring summits, it lies on unincorporated private property owned by a broadcasting company. Its most visible feature is a free-standing broadcast antenna owned by Communication and Control, Inc., erected on February 25, 1998. The 443-foot structure carries Spanish-language television broadcasts including Univision KDTV and Telemundo KSTS, with smaller towers and dishes nearby. In 2018, KTSF, KTLN-TV, and KAXT-CD also moved transmitters there, strengthening Mount Allison’s importance as a Bay Area broadcast site.
