The rooms on this upper level of the furnace complex housed the machinery that powered the foundry's hot blast. Boilers supplied steam to blowing engines, which forced air through the hot blast ovens and into the furnaces. The furnace stacks were enlarged and modified during their period of use. Ruins of the brick blast ovens date from 1881. Earlier blast ovens sat atop the stacks.
