Moss Street School was Kingsbury District 4 and appears on the 1853 map of Washington County. On May 26, 1849, the Town of Kingsbury purchased the lot where the school stands from Thomas and Prudence Daily for $18.00, and their home was just north of the school. The present school building is recorded as having been built in 1884. In the 1950s, it became part of the Hudson Falls Central School system when a new school was built across the street. After school centralization, the Seventh Day Adventist Church used it as a parochial school until building a new school, after which it became the Washington County Head Start School. It has been used uninterrupted as a school longer than any other school building in Washington County.
