Christopher James Vialonga, known to friends as "Vio," worked as a currency trader for Carr Futures in the World Trade Center's north tower. A 1993 graduate of Susquehanna University and a 1989 graduate of Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J., he loved life and especially the people in it. His enthusiasm, kindness, and generous spirit drew many people into his circle, and those who knew him remembered an ever-present smile. At Susquehanna, he was a standout offensive lineman on the football team and played for the 1991 South Region Championship squad that advanced to the national semifinals. He was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, where he formed deep and lasting friendships. He loved his family, his friends, and the New York Jets in that order, except perhaps on fall Sundays. Many observed the caring and compassionate bond between him and his mother, which grew especially strong after his father's death in 1999. He was also a proud uncle to his niece and nephews and reveled in their company, reflecting the joy that embodied his life. A friend later said that he had seemed happy all the time, could cheer people up, and inspired others to smile more, think positive thoughts, and do the little things he did.
