Moro Canyon is a coastal canyon and seasonal stream in Crystal Cove State Park near Laguna Beach, where a creek rises in the San Joaquin Hills, flows southwest under Pacific Coast Highway, and reaches the Pacific at Moro Beach. It serves as one of the park’s main access routes, with the Moro Canyon Trail running about 3.4 miles through the canyon and the Moro Ridge Trail following the south rim to the Upper Moro and Lower Moro campgrounds. The area also holds an early place in local recreation history: Tyron’s Camp opened here in 1927. Moro Canyon additionally defines a hydrologic boundary between two regional water resource basins.
