Deeds Carillon was dedicated in 1942 and rededicated in 1988. It had 50 bells with a total weight of 37,331 pounds, including a largest bell measuring 66 3/4 inches in diameter and a smallest bell measuring 7 7/8 inches, with the lowest bell pitched at A#2. The tower rose 151 feet 6 inches above the terrace and 183 feet 7 inches from the bottom of the foundation, and it was built of Indiana limestone with a granite base. Its interior included a bell chandelier, playing room, first console room, power room, and basement. Robert E. Kline, the first carillonneur and a past president of the Downtown Dayton Kiwanis Club, was memorialized in connection with the carillon. Larry Weinstein gave seven bells, bringing the total to 57, and Jerre and Mary Joy Stead contributed to the installation of those bells in recognition of associates of AT&T/GIS, retirees of NCR, and their friends, neighbors, and relatives in the Dayton area. New lighting for the carillon bell tower restoration was dedicated on April 11, 1995.
