The Martin 404 Skyliner was the first postwar airliner design to reach production. Passenger comforts included a pressurized and air-conditioned cabin. A total of 103 Martin 404s were placed in service, and this aircraft officially flew with Eastern Airlines. It had a capacity of 40 passengers, a cruise speed of 280 mph, a range of 1080 miles, and a powerplant of two Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasps with 2400 horsepower each.
