"Jim’s Bridge"

Jim’s Bridge honors Jim Jones, whose love for the American River and fervor to protect its fisheries and flow levels greatly enhanced the river and parkway. When the bridge was no longer needed for mining activities, he fought to save it so that it could provide a recreational link across the river for the enjoyment of parkway visitors. The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors named it Jim's Bridge in August 1989.
